Majuli – Dibru Saikhowa- Guijan Ghat (5D4N)
Surrounded by the mighty Brahmaptura and its tributaries, Majuli is the world’s largest river island, in close proximity to the Jorhat district of Assam. Continuous floods and an earthquake three centuries ago led to the formation of this island. The island is culturally rich and home to various tribes such as Ahoms, Sonowal Kachari, Deories. During the monsoon season, the island becomes a birding haven. Migratory birds like sandpiper, falcon, pintail, dalmatian pelican can be spotted here, along with a variety of residential birds. For the lovers of horizon, sunsets at the seashore of Brahmaputra await to make the experience immemorable.
Majuli is also known for its mask making culture. Considered a sacred practice, it is now conducted only by the devotees of Chamogri Satra.
Day 1 : Arrival at Guwahati or Jorhat Airport (optional )
Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and head straight towards Jorhat. From there you reach the Brahmaputra river bank named NEEMATI GHAT. From here you have to board a ferry to reach the Majuli Island. Check-in to a beautiful homestay.

DAY 2 : EXPLORE MAJULI
Majuli, the largest river island in the world is a rich and fertile land or silt that can produce a large variety of paddy like rice, mustard seeds etc. Majuli is known for the various Satras, that is a part of the Vaishnavite religious culture preached by SRI SRI MAHAPURUSH SRIMANTA SANKARDEVA .Majuli is also famous for the mask making culture. The famous RAAS LEELA festival that is celebrated all over ASSAM in the month of November- December, Majuli does not lack behind , on the contrary it has made this festival so popular for its masks that people from all over the state throng in here during the festival, to see larger than life size masks.

DAY 3 MAJULI TO GUIJAN GHAT
In the morning after breakfast checkout from your homestay and board a ferry and reach across the plains , we are heading for DIBRU-SAIKHOWA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY today(227 KM). We have to reach GUIJAN GHAT at the banks of LUIT a tributary of the BRAHMAPUTRA. You can opt for a stay in a houseboat or at any of the eco camps in and around Guijan.

DAY 4 EXPLORING DIBRU SAIKHOWA
Next morning enjoy the blue landscape of the river bank , on the other side of the bank is the DIBRU SAIKHOWA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY. You can also opt for a birding experience at MAGURI BILL some 5 kms from GUIJAN. To have close encounter of the birding experience you have to get a small boat made of wooden planks and launch into the BILL(lake). You can spot comorants, kingfishers, ibises etc. Rudy shell birds are found in abundance in this part of the world.
After reaching DIBRU SAIKHOWA which is situated at the other side of the LUIT River , take a walk in the sandy shore and get deeper into the SANCTUARY.
There are around 500 species of endemic and migratory birds found in the sanctuary. The KEKJORI TREE is a major attraction of the sanctuary. The tree is so huge that the branches are spread across the area, that would take around 20 mins to complete the circumference.
