Eagle Nest Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected place , which is situated in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is considered to be a bird watchers paradise. Some of the bird species found in the sanctuary can nowhere be found in the entire country. Researchers and naturalist from all around the world throng to this place to take pictures that can be treasured for a lifetime.
Bird species such as- two dozen babbler, more than 20 types of warbler, sunbirds, flycatchers (ultramarine, slaty blue, white gorgeted,sapphire, dark sided), variety of woodpeckers, laughing thrush etc.
Winter's in Eaglenest with lush evergreen forests & stunning landscapes is spectacularly beautiful. One encounter's birds like tawny wood owl, grey chinned minivet, mountain hawk eagle, Barbets ( 6 species), Partridge ( rufous throated & chestnut breated), Robin( golden bush & blue fronted), niltava, fulvettas, parrotbills ( 4 species) . The park shot to fame after the spotting of Bugun Liocichla – a peculiar bird species named after Bugun community. They reside in the forests of national park region.
In addition to the abundant number of bird species found, the sanctuary is also home to amphibians, snakes, lizards, and butterflies. Asian elephant, capped langur, Bengal tiger, red panda, gaur, and Asiatic black bear are some of the animal species found in the park.

Day 01 Guwahati to Bhalukpong
Arrival at Guwahati, Meet our Guide & driver, Later drive for 5-6 hrs to Bhalukpong, Check in at Hotel. If time permits than evening birding around Bhalukpong .
Overnight in Bhalukpong
Day 02 Bhalukpong to Lama Camp (Eagle Nest)
Early morning drive from Bhalukpong to Lama camp. enroute birding at Sessa orchid sanctuary. Evening arrival at Lama camp.
Overnight in Tent
Day 03 Lama Camp to Bompu Camp
Start early in morning looking for rare Bugun Liocichla & other specialties of the area. Have breakfast in camp. Take packed lunch drive to Bompu camp . Full day of birding .
Overnight in Tents
Day 04 Bompu Camp
Have early breakfast , full day birding till Khelong ( Edge of Sanctuary ), evening back to Bompu camp. Overnight in Tent.
Day 05 Bompu Camp
Early breakfast at camp, take your packed lunch , Full day birding till Sunderview & Eaglnest Pass.
Overnight in Bompu Camp
Day 06 Bompu Camp Day
This day we will go for full day birding till Sessni, Evening back at Bompu..
Day 07 Bompu Camp to Lama Camp
Early morning drive to Lama camp. Full day birding covering higher areas to eaglenest.
Overnight in Lama Camp.
Day 08 Lama Camp to Guwahati Day
This is a long day, Start early birding around Lama camp & than drive for 9 hrs to Guwahati. End of trip.
