The Ziro Festival of Music, held in the valley town of Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh since 2012. It is one of the youngest music festivals in the country. It offers a great mix of the local scenery and the music from across the country. The festival not only attracts bands from the north-east but also metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The local Apatani tribe people provide their full support in setting up the temporary stages and stay for the artistes. The festival is held in September and is a ticketed event. The festival is an adventure in itself with the stay for visitors arranged in tents which have to be pre-booked. Visitors are also advised to carry sufficient clothing to escape the cold and protective gear against rain, which pays surprise visit once in a while.
The Ziro valley is the home to Apatani tribe. The Apatani tribe is famous for their hospitality and their love for music. The Ziro Music Festival gives an outlet to this penchant for music and the desire to have an organized music festival. The festival draws music lovers from distant parts of the country. It is an outdoor festival which is celebrated with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Apart from being a fertile opportunity to showcase the talents and music of North East, the festival also helps to promote tourism in the state. National and international artists like Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley, Lou Majaw, Sha'air n Func, Indus Creed, Peter Cat Recording Co, Menwhopause, Guru Rewben Mashangva, and Barmer Boys have been a part of the festival. Along with a fantastic musical treat for four days, the audience also gets accommodation facility in camps near the venue keeping them near their favorite artists and sessions.
Day 01 Guwahati to Itanagar(Arunachal Pradesh)
On arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station you will be taken straight to Itanagar (340km ) . You can also opt for train to Nagarlagun from Guwahati , which is the nearest railway station to Ziro Valley but you need to book your tickets a month ago before the festival time.

Day 02 Itanagar to Ziro Valley
In the morning head for Ziro Valley which is at a distance of 116km . It will take approximately 4 hours to reach. The journey is a beautiful uphill ascend through the pine hills with small picturesque villages enroute. The roads are rough and bumpy at places but the beautiful landscape and the excitement of the festival will not deter your spirits, as cars of the fellow travelers to the festival pass with loud music and cheer.

Day 03 Explore ZIRO Valley
Today we are going to explore the Apatani Tribe Village walk. So, after breakfast at the camp site we walk down through the village road to witness the life and culture of the Apatani Tribe which is one of the oldest tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
They primarily depend upon agriculture and farming and live-in absolute harmony with nature. Almost every household have pond at their backyard where they do fish and frog farming.
Your guide will take you inside a local household where the center of the house not only serves as a fireplace to sit and hangout but also used as a kitchen fire to cook food for the entire family.
Later return to the campsite and get ready to spend the evening at the festival ground.
You can join the after party at the campsite amidst bonfire and live jamming with fellow campers.
Day 04 Explore Tao Tiibi Village
After breakfast we shall take you explore the Tao Tiibi Village, which is one of the most picturesque places of the Ziro Valley. Our cab shall take you to the village since it is located at a distance from the festival ground.
Reach Tarin Fish Farm which is a very popular attraction located in Bulla Village. The interesting part about this place is that here you can see the raising of rice varieties and fish breeding together. Covering an area 7.4 hectares, the farm was established in 1985-86.
An hour’s walk through the jungle from Tarin farm shall get you to Tao Tiibi. The remoteness of this trail makes it an exhilarating experience and the landscape is beyond any imagination. Tao Tiibi is home to Roto Pani family,the sole habitat of this place who has been living and farming here since 1968. Their farmland is surrounded by mountains in all side and is now popularly known as Roto Pani organic farm. The owner of the farm Roto Pani has been awarded with the ‘best farmer’ award in 1991 for his sustainable farming practices.
You will be astonished to see the systematic channels and canals for irrigation, even in such a hilltop.
Later get back to the festival ground before it gets dark, to enjoy the evening. Later in the night have your dinner at the camp site among others amidst bonfire.
Day 05 Ziro Festival / Final day :
This is the final day of Ziro Music festival, so enjoy all your time at the festival ground. Go to the venue after breakfast and enjoy all the performances that’s been live. Later come back to campsite and have some rest. After that return back to the festival ground and enjoy the finale.
After bidding a farewell to the festival, join the after party at the campsite, ensure to have dinner on time and continue merrymaking.
Day 06 Ziro to Guwahati :
It is last day in your itinerary for Ziro Festival of music and it’s the time to go back home. After breakfast our cab shall take you straight towards Guwahati. You can prefer to spend the night at a city hotel near to the airport in Guwahati.
Next day your our cab shall drop you at airport/railway station and your journey ends with beautiful memories of the north-east.
